Full moon Kilimanjaro 2024 dates. Summiting the mountain on a cloudless evening is a memorable experience. However summiting under a full moon, with the glaciers glittering in the moonlight, is a unique experience. Full moon hikes are a popular and unique way to summit the mountain. The majority of the hike takes place during the day, with only the summit attempt beginning at midnight. The goal starting at midnight is to reach the summit by sunrise.

Because of the popularity of full moon summits the mountain is normally busier during full moon periods. Because of this do we recommend that you plan and book well in advance to make sure there will be availability. We recommend that you reserve the hike the coincide with the short and long dry seasons. By choosing to hike during the dry season will you increase your chance of having good weather and clear skies.
